Judy Storey was an avid tennis player. Just 5 years ago she nearly died of an illness and was hospitalized for 2 months. In her long road to recovery, she quickly realized that tennis was too harsh on her weakened body. She searched for a fitness program that she would like and that would rebuild her strength safely. She stumbled upon Pole Dancing for Fitness and decided to give it a try. Within a short period of time, through dedication and support from the wonderful women that surrounded her, she regained her muscle tone abd strength and now in the best shape of her life at 52 years old! Pole Dancing brought back the “MoJo” she’d also lost! Seeing this transformation for herself encouraged her to open her own Pole Fitness Studio. She’s been teaching Pole Fitness for over four years now and enjoys watching women of ALL ages transform their bodies and rejuvenate their “MoJo”.
Janine Cooper has been pole dancing for fitness for over 3 years and has been hooked since day one. She wanted to help others bring out their “sexy swagger”, all while getting a great workout and having fun doing it! For her, pole dance fitness stands for strength, beauty and empowerment. Everyday she encounters women who are trying to attain that “perfect” body. She believes that pole dancing can help build women’s confidence in order to make them comfortable in their own skin and be proud of their bodies regardless of size or shape. Pole Fitness epitomizes everything that Janine believes in which is building confidence, setting & achieving goals, and good health. Janine attributes her love of music and sense of rhythm to her hometown upbringing in Miami, FL. Janine has recently won 2nd place in the “Miss Carolina Pole Competition 2012” and she also won “Miss Flexibility 2012”.
Christine Marshall trained for over 20 years in the Competitive World of Swimming, where she earned one of the highest achievements an athlete could earn. She won a Bronze Metal in the Olympics! Christine retired from the sport in 2011 and began looking for a new outlet of sport and fitness and a place to let her inhibitions go. The native born Virginian joined PoleFit Carolinas last year as a student and was completely hooked after a month. Christine, now a pole fit junkie is now an Pole Instructor and is also hosting with Private Events and loving it!
Alicia McNaughton is Carolina girl growing up in the mountains of North Carolina. She moved to Charlotte for college and decided to stay. She started dancing at the early age of 2 and has competed and taught ever since. Her background is in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, and Hip Hop. “I love dancing, it helps you forget everything you were thinking once the music starts and you escape all the pressures of life. I can’t image my life without dance and I hope to share it with as many women as I can”.
Amber Lowe is a native to Charlotte. She has Bachelor of Arts degree from UNC Charlotte. Her passion has been dance since a little girl. Amber has over 15 years of dance experience and has competed for 10 years all over the east coast. In addition she has also been a dance instructor for over 10 years, instructing all age groups. Her focus was tap, but has studied jazz, ballet, and contemporary. “I have such a passion for different styles of dance that I want to help women with or without any dance background have a “Chance to Dance”. Hence, the name of the class Alicia and Amber teach!
Shelby began gymnastics at a very young age and continued to through 11th grade. When she hit her senior year in high school, she began her dance training. She fell into dance by being selected to be on the dance team in a show at Narroway Productions! Shelby is now a senior dance performance major at Winthrop University. For the past four years, Shelby has focused on her aerial training which included silks, lyra and some trapeze. Her ultimate goal is to one day perform with a circus and travel the world. She is attending Boot Camp Training at the New England Center for Circus Arts. She found such a love of aerial because it combines gymnastics, dance and athleticism into such a beautiful art and is anxious to share this with the ladies at PoleFit Carolinas. Additionally, she teaches our Stretch for Flex class helping women to learn to lengthen their muscles into beautiful poses.
Salene Hernandez is a true Carolina girl. She has been dancing since the age of 4! She began her dance training with classical ballet, modern, and jazz. She later branched out into hip hop, zumba, and belly dancing! When she found PoleFit Carolinas, she discovered that Pole Dancing for Fitness was the greatest thing ever and lost over 20 pounds and 22 inches and all in just 3 months! "Pole fitness” is the best way to combine all forms of dance into a new sexy form of creative expression that is so much fun you forget you are working out" she says. Salene has her degree in Medical Assisting, but finds teaching women this new form of fitness to be very gratifying and she'd rather be dancing! She became a Certified Pole Instructor August 2013. Sharing her dance experience with others and using her unique swag to come up with new routines is among her most favorite thing to do!

Trona Davis an Interior Designer by Trade moved from Michigan to North Carolina in 2010 seeking a new beginning in every aspect of her life. She also wanted a new workout… the gym was boring. One day she drove by and saw the PoleFit Carolinas sign in the window and decided to try that! As part of a multi talented family of musicians and lovers of music, Trona found her calling as Pole Fitness combines her love of music, dance, and expression with the most challenging but fun workout! Her eclectic talent comes from a variety of training in the areas of Jazz, Modern, African, Hip Hop and Ball Room Dance. She also did a little gymnastics, which I am sure explains her “no fear” attitude when on our 17’ poles. Trona loves to share her flare for music and choreography with the women of PoleFit Carolinas and is one of our newest Certified Pole Instructors who also hosts private parties as well.
Alexis Brown is from Indianapolis, IN. She has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting
from the University of Evansville. After moving to Charlotte, NC at the end of 2011,

Ebony Norris has a bachelor’s degree in nursing and for the past 4 years she has been working as a labor and delivery nurse. She had always been interested by the idea of pole fitness, but was always too nervous to try it. Then, one day a friend told her about a groupon for PoleFit Carolinas and Ebony decided it was now or never, she needed to try this. Ever since her first class in May 2012, she has been addicted to this phenomenal form of fitness. Pole fitness has not only been a form of exercise for her, but it's become her passion. Ebony believes that pole fitness is not only a way to gain strength, and build your confidence, but the BEST stress reliever imaginable. She has learned and teaches others that you can accomplish anything if you set your mind to it. She is proud to share this philosophy with the other women who attend her classes. She is a true inspiration.
Anna Eagle is a 1st generation classically trained pilates instructor who began her
career in 2002 as a student and quickly began to see and feel the benefits of pilates.
She completed a rigorous 800 hour pilates certification in 2005 under the tutelage
of Romana Kryzanowska, Joseph Pilates’ protégé, the founder of Romana's Pilates,
who was a student of and taught alongside Joseph Pilates until his death. Anna is
also a graduate of Wake Forest University with a degree in exercise physiology and
has extensive experience in sports performance and pain management rehabilitation.
